Hyatt Place Tempe/Phoenix Airport

I selected this Hotel due to its location close to the airport. My stay was 12/14-15/2023. Once there I remembered that I had stayed at this place 7 years ago. To start in order: Karen (Desk in early evening) was a blessing. I expected to park at the airport to take care of business. She set my mind at ease and put the wife and I on the Shuttle List. No aggravation of parking. She was a Darling. AM desk Elaina was a Darling also. Giving me time needed to take of business and then check out.Transportation Marisol was the best, got me there on time and returned for pick up in a timely manner. Kudos to these 3 individuals for making my stay enjoyable. Room was very comfortable, but the view was lacking, but I didn't come for the view, kept curtains closed. Construction was in progress, again it didn't bother me as it was ending for the day as I went to dinner. I will stay at this property again. The 3 that were named deserve high praise from management.. Sorry no photos...

The hotel has just renovated so the room we stayed in smell like paints. The rooms are very clean though. The shuttle bus driver looks so pissed and unwilling to respond a word when we say thank you and merry Christmas. The lady at the front desk is ok, although she was polite she was sitting at the other end of the hotel to take a rest leaving front desk with nobody. I understand it’s a holiday season and that’s why they don’t want to be at work but I do wish their attitude and service is better. Also the hotel does not have enhanced elevator security using room card to enter and a corner of the hotel is under repair/ feels a bit creepy.

Although the hotel was clean, up to date and conveniently located with easy walk to several restaurants it was the staff that made my stay excellent. They were all professional, courteous and kind. One employee Dianna was very especially outstanding. She went out of her way to get me my belongings which I neglected to take from my room. Storage to find thoughtful people who go the extra mile. I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel is under construction. Other than that, all was good. Breakfast has a good selection and staff are kind and personable! Rooms are quite sizeable with a nice couch and sitting area. The location is near many things including ASU and the best sandwich shop ever! Cheba Hut in TEMPE has the best food and the staff are INCREDIBLE!

This was the worst hotel experience of my life. We came down to Tempe for my daughter’s graduation from ASU. We were very excited when we arrived to our hotel. Upon entering the hotel we saw that there was construction going on inside the hotel and there was dust everywhere. When we got into our rooms we started getting ready to go out since we had been driving for 14 hours already. The sink immediately began to fill up with water, it would take an hour for it to drain every time we used it to wash our faces. My wife got into the shower and fell since there was no slip mat. She hurt herself pretty badly and was banged up afterwards. We went down to the lobby on our way out that night and told them of the sink not draining and of my wife’s slip so that they could provide a slip mat. They didn’t bother asking if she was okay which I think if you’re in customer service you should at least make sure that your customers are okay. They gave us a mat to take up to the room and told us to let them know when we would be back so that they could send someone to unclog the sink. We told them we were headed up and no one ever came to fix it. We started getting ready to go to my daughters graduation ceremony and in the middle of my daughter in the shower they shut the water off. She was all soaped up in the middle of getting ready with no water to wash off. This ended up making her late to her graduation ceremony. We understand that there was construction going on but we were never told that they would be shutting off the water, otherwise we would’ve planned our showers better. When we came back from the graduation we were in our rooms and the fire alarms went off. We went into the hallway and they turned off. No one ever called the rooms to notify us of an alarm testing or to tell us that we needed to leave or anything. We went to dinner and when we came back there was a note on the floor saying that they would be running fire alarm tests (after the fact). We are very upset from our experience, it ruined our first trip to Tempe.
